Where To Stay In Singapore // Lloyd’s Inn

Our favorite hangout spot for the 3 days was the dip pool area, with the comfiest loungers ever! (It’s also the most Instagrammed spot!)

My best friend and I were flying to Phuket for a friend’s wedding and our flight was via Singapore. This gave us a perfect opportunity to sneak our long overdue vacation, to the Lion City. I think one of the best parts of vacations is unquestionably the hotel, and if the hotel is anything like Llyod’s Inn, it’s just a cherry on top!

Away from the common din, Lloyd’s Inn is situated at one of the swanky residential areas in Singapore. (And by swanky, I mean- the ex-PM house is just behind the property). For all the shoppers out there, It is a 5-minute walk to Orchard road. Other bustling areas such as Clarke Quay & Boat Quay are just a 10-15 minutes walk away. It is very well connected by subways/buses and the stations/stops are in close proximity as well.

It’s  a small 34 room boutique hotel, with the monochrome decor and minimalistic architecture. They have the standard & premium rooms to more chicer deluxe and suites. My friend and I stayed in one of their sky rooms as we had read so much about it, and trust me it was all worth it!  The highlight being their outdoor bathtub opening up to the sky. (Yes, you heard that right!) Our favorite hangout spot for the 3 days was the dip pool area, with the comfiest loungers ever! (It’s also the most Instagrammed spot!)

You know breakfast is of utmost importance on vacations and my choice of hotel mainly relies on it. I made an exception for the first time only because this property had an interesting concept. Although breakfast is included in your Lloyd’s Inn room charge, it is not served at the property.  They have tied up with a local bakery, that is just around the corner and provides authentic Singaporean breakfast. On top of it, you can use your breakfast coupons all day long. Alternatively, If your taste buds prefer English over Singaporean breakfast, you can pay a few extra dollars and they will have you covered.

As a guest, I could access their common pantry, which is an amazing socializing point. It’s a nice outdoor road facing area which has a microwave, vending machine and coffee machine.

Verdict: If you’re on a solo trip, or traveling with your partner or friends, Lloyd’s Inn is definitely a big yes for being so easy on the pocket for all the facilities it provides and for being so centrally located. It’s the perfect spot to unwind and relax.

USP: They also give you a  handset for your entire stay, which has prepaid data as well. (The complimentary cookies in the room are just delicious!)

Tip: The place is super popular, so book well in advance so you don’t miss out!
