A Day Well Spent At A Villa Of Our Instagram Dreams

The serendipity of telling your friends that you just wanna get out of the city if only for the weekend and getting invited by a gorgeous villa just a two-hour drive away, just 15 minutes into the conversation, was only one of the magical parts of my trip to Chandralok Villas.

Of course, I had seen photos of the 4 villa property in Lonavala before saying yes and was absolutely charmed with their vintage setting served with an edge of luxe eccentricity. Think rocking chairs, retro outdoor furniture, water filter covered with fabric from old saris, distinctive wall art, an attic room, and the made-for-Instagram staircase. Each of their villas has four bedrooms and an attic room with a private pool (our favourite!), making them perfectly suitable for a big family and friends getaway from the city. For our stay, we were welcomed and entertained by Siddhi Ganatra and their lovely staff who made it seem like we were visiting an old friend. And even though we missed Heta Ganatra (cofounder of Chandralok Villas), she ensured that we were well taken care of. From trying out the best Gujarati thali ever at their sister hotel to spending all the time by the pool and shopping at their second-hand luxury store Doobara – our time at Chandralok Villas was highlighted with great food (and wine), good laughs, and all-out relaxed, happy and homely vibe.

So, if you too are looking for a quick break from the city, take your family and friends along to this vintage escape in the heart of Lonavala for a delightful time. It’s truly a home away from home! And well, make sure to the Ganatra sisters a big hug from our side when you visit.
