As you sit to sort out your next vacation plan, let me be your helping hand to help you find comfortable yet chic shoe styles for your holiday after all travelling doesn’t mean ditching comfort over style or vice-versa. In between your everyday flats and stilettos is where you will find the perfect balance of style and comfort i.e. the right pair of walking shoes for your next travel.
So, in the search for the best travel shoes, I made sure to look for pairs that were specially made for walking. I believe the best way to explore any destination is on foot because then you get to feel the vibe of the place and spot the tiny details that make it stand out. With that in mind, here are some of my favourite (and hopefully yours too) shoe styles that you need before deciding your next adventure:
As you book your tickets for the next European adventure, make sure to check your wardrobe for a pair of iconic Adidas Originals Stan Smith or Nike Classic Cortez because they are not only the obvious choice for your walking tours but also can be easily dressed up or dressed down. I mean, you can wear them with dresses, pantsuits, denim and much more. If you are looking for day-to-night shoe style with a more polished look, get yourself loafers that will take you from museum hopping straight to bar hopping without even a sign of a blister. Be it Salvatore Ferragamo leather loafers or the block heel variation by Gucci. And as the wind gets cooler, bring your fall favourite boots out of the suitcase. You can either opt for classic black boots like Zara cut out ankle boots or leopard print boots by YSL.
If an island or a beach vacation is next on your list, then switch your loafers and booties with your beloved sandals, be it casual or fancy. Before putting your toes in the sand, pamper them with a fun and flirty pairs like palm tree slip-on espadrilles by & Other Stories or their metallic gladiator sandals. And for the pool time, keep summer slides handy like the much in-trend logo slides (Givenchy Embossed Logo Rubber Slides) or the good old Adilette in its new tropical print variation.
MADE FOR INSTAGRAM
While most shoes are centered on comfort and style, some have an additional quality of being insta-worthy like Balenciaga sock trainers. These have been spotted on every possible influencer, celebrity and celebrity kids as well. On the other hand, ever since the revival of 90’s trends, logo mania has taken over the fashion world. So, any shoe style that makes a good use of logo needs to be instagrammed like Givenchy slides or Isabel Marant leather trainers. Also, while looking for all the shoes, I came across the most photogenic Adillete that ask, “Where is the beach?” Even though it might be available in the men’s section, it surely is made for all us girls as well.
Now that, your travel shoe wardrobe is sorted. It’s time to get ready and jet-set. And make sure to wear the bulky pair to the airport so that your carry on has extra space for some last minute duty-free shopping after all we all have our guilty pleasures.
