What To Pack MasterList // Tokyo
What to pack for Japan – the faraway land where eccentricity and culture go hand in hand? To simplifying this equation for you, we got Spardha Malik, Digital Editor at Ogaan, to create a ‘What To Pack MasterList!’

“Japan is quite the contradiction. It’s the fashion capital of the East and yet totally seeped in tradition. It’s conservative, and still totally rad. You’ll see suited businesswomen walking next to Harajuku hipsters and Kawaii Hello-Kitty girls. But one thing they all have in common is just how well turned out everyone is. Japan is not the place to look shabby. No tank tops, no flip flops and no holes in your socks — as long as you remember this, work up any style fantasy and you can play it in Tokyo no-holds-barred. My personal favourite Japanese look is a mix of edgy athleisure with a touch of whimsy (it is the land of Rei Kawakubo, after all). Wear the newest scuff-free pair of sneakers, un-heard of indie labels or pieces that look like they were crafted by a mad scientist, mixed with cool-kid Adidas or Onitsuka Tiger jumpers for when it gets cold. The only way to fit-in in Tokyo is to stand-out!”
