I used to be a Valentine’s Day cynic. In fact, I scoffed at the thought of any public display/celebration of affection.
“Do you really need to post those 100 million baby photos?”
“Do we all have to read long status messages about your S.O?”
“Oh, your dog does cute things? So do all other dogs!”
This was me. And Valentine’s Day, especially, made me angry. “Why do people need a specific day to celebrate love?” None of this came from the place of jealousy or lack of empathy. I never celebrated V-day even when I was with the most wonderful men. Maybe, I strived to be a non-conformist or maybe it was a way for me to protect myself from any disappointments (if you too suffer from birthday anxiety, you’d understand). But of late, I totally support any gesture and showcase of affection. With so much going wrong around the world – politically, environmentally and economically, I feel that we need more and more people celebrating love — the love of and for all genders, pronouns, and most importantly, self. So here I am, supremely happy to bring you Valentine’s Day gifting ideas for you and/or your sexy bear. For those who don’t have someone to celebrate it with this year, I hope you find someone who and believes in you and your dreams as much as Elon Musk believes in SpaceX.
